SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL (USA)

19th – 29th January

Held in Utah, it is the largest independent film festival in the United States and provides a showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers.

BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

9th – 19th February

One of the most important dates on the international film industry’s calendar. It is the largest, most attended film festival in the world. Up to 400 films are shown in several sections, representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world.

HOLLAND ANIMATION FILM FESTIVAL

28th March – 1st April

The festival provides a national and international platform for animation. It is a national and international meeting place and source of inspiration for animation professionals and rising talent and promotes animated film as an attractive cultural leisure pursuit. 12-23rd April

A festival committed to the independent filmmaker, giving special attention to films by first and second-time directors and films shot with budgets under £100,000.

SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL (Australia)

28th April – 5th May

Shorts presents a showcase of Australian talent across a week of lounge-style film screenings. Set in non-cinematic, eclectic venues, Shorts is an intimate event that combines great film, fabulous food and a cocktail atmosphere to create a uniquely creative vibe. The festival is a fantastic opportunity for filmmakers, artists and the general public to mingle, creating an enthusiastic audience that’s fanatical about film.

OBERHAUSEN INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (Germany)

26th April – 1st May

In the course of more than five decades Oberhausen has become one of the world’s oldest and most respected film events and a major international platform for the short form.

THIS LONDON (UK)

This London is an online film competition that seeks to discover and
celebrate the most talented and innovative storytellers that work inand around London. The chosen films will be screened at an event at the Hospital Club in May, and the winner will be given a unique filmmaking opportunity.

DC SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL (USA)

6 – 16 September

DC Shorts turns the spotlight on truly independent short films, created by new and established filmmakers in an era when the art of filmmaking is opening to all. After each screening, filmmakers have the opportunity to speak to the audience as part of a moderated panel, building an atmosphere of community and developing relationships between artist, audience and film professionals.

VIEW CONFERENCE (Italy)

VIEWFest is an international festival on 3D cinema and animation celebrated in the city of Turin.
