GUSTAV TO SCREEN AT EXPLODING CINEMA

Exploding Cinema is a multi-roomed extravaganza, as part of the Besides the Screen conference at Goldsmiths college. It features ten rooms of film and video installations & performances, live music and soundtracks, Psycho-Haptic visuals, special guests and surprise acts.

Among these will be a new cinematic offering from long-time RSSF friends, ArtHertz, with their short film GUSTAV. The film is centred around the war pigeon that delivered the first message of the D Day Landings at Normandy on 6th June 1944. The piece is a stylised account of events at that time during the pigeon’s journey home, set to music and poetry – Velocity by Ivy Ireland and it is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. The poster is below, and you can see the film itself here…
