BRANCHAGE  SCHOOL Presents FEATURE DIRECTOR’S LAB 2010

17 – 23 September

Branchage School is a week-long residential film course hosted on the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands, immediately before the lively Branchage Film Festival.This year Branchage School presents Feature Directors Lab. The course is aimed at filmmakers looking to make their first or second feature film. The Directors will be tutored and mentored to develop their own projects whilst in Jersey, and given the opportunity to attend masterclasses with highly acclaimed professionals in development, production, and beyond.

Taking place from 17 – 23 September, immediately before the start of Branchage International Film Festival (23 – 26 September), accommodation will be at the luxurious 4-star Hotel de France, classes will take place in
Jersey’s capital, St Helier. An optional Transcendental Meditation course will also run alongside the Film School. This will involve 20 minutes of meditative practice at the start and end of each day, helping students who participate to delve deeper into our ‘collective consciousness’ to access the fundamental pool from which creative ideas can flood.

The course is intended for twelve students from all walks of life, with additional places available for those who would like to attend our Open Session Masterclasses. Students can be: graduates from a variety of areas with a diversity of skills, short filmmakers, those working in the industry already.

REBECCA MARK – LAWSON – producer (Executive Producer on UK Film Council short film schemes 2006 – 2010, Production Manager DEADMAN’S SHOES)
CHRIS BARWELL – editor (BETTER THINGS, THE SONG OF LUNCH)
PAT STONE – TM teacher

Festival Pass is Free to All Film School Participants! These fees include tuition, on island transport, all food, soft drinks and accommodation for residential students, including meals out in Jersey’s picturesque Bays. Once you arrive you will not have to put your hand in your pocket, except for alcoholic drinks.

Transcendental Meditation is optional and is £250.00 for the course.

This can be paid in installments as and when the student can afford to pay, if they wish to take part.

Passes are available to the Open Session Masterclasses – £300.00 Full price Pass to access all Open Session Masterclasses / £175.00 Unwaged / Low-wage / Student Pass for all Open Session Masterclasses / £65.00 Full price Individual Pass to Open Session Masterclass / £40.00 Unwaged / Low-wage/ Student Individual Pass to Open Session Masterclass.
